    New Camp Pendleton, CA.

Good afternoon! I have perused the site many times in the last few years and then not recently become a member.

I am of Scottish ancestry. As far as I can trace my family line started in Norway with the surname Hardinge'. Those Viking ancestors went to Scotland and populated the area around Perthshire and as time went on bedspart of gthe MacIntosh/McIntosh clan. Once they became "Scottish" they dropped the "e" and we've been Hardings ever since.

I look forward to chatting with you all.

    Semper Fidelis and Slainte'

Hi Cody, and welcome, BTW, my heritage is similar to yours.

My last name is Scottish, rare, and ancient. A DNA test (family tree DNA) showed that my Scottish ancestors were also Vikings. My "Scottish" origins (as far as when surnames were started being used) is from around the city of Sterling.

    Welcome to the group.

Hello there, Cody, and welcome to X Marks from Delaware. Thank you for that interesting introduction regarding your Scottish roots.

I'm glad you chose to join the kilted rabble so, jump right in, we look froward to chatting with you as well.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
