James, my personal preference is to have it hit the bottom half of the knee cap. My excuse is because I'm on-stage with the things, and I REALLY don't need to be sharing the boys with the front row!

I also know that once the dancing and jumping around starts, I won't need to worry too much about the sway. What's under the kilt... stays under the kilt (thanks to Las Vegas for that line).

I know that when I see a kilt above the knee in the USA, it's looks a little too "Britney Spears" for me. On a female... GREAT!!! On a guy...
