One incident in my working for others time, which I treasure, is the day I walked out of a job. It was an all male laboratory, in heavy industry metallurgical supplies. I was the one expected to leave what I was doing to make the coffee twice a day, and do all the cleaning and tidying up after everyone. The lab manager was breaking up with his wife and he took it out on me. One afternoon I was in the middle of some testing and he started on at me, and said 'if I had my way you'd be out of here so fast...' so I stood up, said 'Yes SIR' and walked out.
