Stag Kilt

Believe it or not, this bluff ol' traditionalist kind of likes the stag tartan strange feeling...need pipe band CD to subdue strange feeling of liking "non-traditional item"!

I don't the "pink" is really pink though, more of a light purple...look at the Baird tartan in acient colours, it has a light purple as well...very nice.

Or one that can have the New York Rangers emblem flat on the... um... backside!

Anyone that could find such a source with various teams, countries, or organizations could have a GREAT niche in the market! The best part is that the weaver has to get the licensing for the emblems! As long as the kiltmaker doesn't claim that it's an "official" kilt of the organization, it's merely a garment with nice designs!

I like this. Its great to have a symbol that is universal.The colours are good too and I would say its a purple line not pink.

I think it's great! It's just a matter of time before I buy a kilt in that style. I also love the look of the "saltire kilt" but this would be my next choice. I started out as a staunch traditionalist but apparently my views have softened quite a bit over the last year. The stag kilt looks to be very nicely detailed.

Like so many of us, Blu! I also was a "staunch traditionalist" between the ages of 14 and 61, but since I have been wearing kilts all day, every day, I too have changed my ideas. Over the past 6 or 7 years, I have become so very convinced that The Kilt is far too valuable a garment for it to remain entirely static. Yes, the traditional kilt MUST be retained, both as a formal garment and as a day-to-day/casual garment, but it must also be allowed to evolve. Plain kilts made in the traditional style are the first step, then come the kilts tailored in non-woollen fabrics and, indeed, other materials altogether (leather, etc.). Hot on their heels come the new designs of kilt which have burst from North America in the past four years or so. What is next? Where do our beloved kilts go from here?

Who knows, but 'go from here' they must continue.

I am very proud of my Scottish roots (albeit somewhat thin ones) and I am equally proud of the traditional kilts I wear. Am I therefore 'odd' (don't answer that ) when I say that I am just as proud to wear the far-from-traditional American kilts in my "Kollection". I don't think so!
