Hey, I remember the winter of '89. It was so cold we had to bring the cat in at night.
Sears sold out of their entire stock of 26 sweaters.
I had to huddle close to my Bar-B-Q on the deck when the temperatures plummeted.
My daughter came home from school in tears because someone told her that you could get trapped in the pool if it iced over suddenly.

Funny that you posted this today after the warm weather blew in. Two days ago it was quite chilly! We got our first freeze. Didn't last long though.

An early freeze isnt so bad but the late ones in spring are the ones that hurt the peach crops. I was dissappointed last year to find that there was a late freeze that got all the good Hill Country peaches. Nothing beats a Stonewall peach.

I read this just after tuning up the snowblower and a trip to the hardware store to buy a spare shovel. My heart bleeds for our poor brethren in Texas who will have to survive another sweltering (by Minnesota standards) winter. Stay strong, lads. You can survive.

True. We hit 29F, but only for a few hours. Enough to feeze most delicate plants. And it was cold enough wear my tweed kilt. It has to be that cold for it to be comfortable. But as soon as you welcome the cold weather, it's gone again. 79F today, and 83F tomorrow. I think drinks and dinner on the deck tonight....

It hit 90 degrees here a couple days ago. Yesterday was a bone-chilling 70... locals were wearing jackets, I'm not kidding. Another brutal Southern California winter.
