Here's a picture from my wedding last December, wearing my 20 foot long season 18 Tom Baker scarf, knitted in chenille, with kilt. I'd love a TARDIS kilt to wear it with. (My lovely bride is wearing TARDIS pillbox hat like this one: http://etsy.me/19ICpFy)

There's a few ways that come to mind that would be equally rad, depending on the look you're going for. A simple solution might be to have the front of the TARDIS screenprinted on the apron, though that could be awfully "t-shirt" looking. It could be hand painted maybe, provided the paint dried thin and flexible enough to not make the apron go all wonky.

I think the coolest way could be to cut and sew fabric panels for the windows and maybe the doors, with a screenprinted or hand painted POLICE BOX band along the top, just under the waisband. Stitching the panels on by hand with heavy thread could be very neat looking. Rather than trying to make the rest of the kilt like a wearable TARDIS I'd look at bringing in some other details, like some leather bits with Gallifreyan tooled in?

Llama, you and your Mrs. look completely FABULOUS! And that scarf...OMG...amazing. 20 feet long. My wife is going to faint when I tell her what my next crochet project is!

biblemonkey: Good to see you back. I was hoping you hadn't dropped off the earth. I'm still waiting to spring for my part of that "Christian" tartan.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I got so much negative feedback on that one that I dropped it.

Right now I am looking for a utility style kilt in something close to TARDIS blue that won't cost more than $175 and I will make the modifications myself. Thinking maybe cloth windows after market on one cargo pocket, white cloth "Pull To Open" sign on the other, Police Box black sign as a belt with maybe a Gallifreyan belt buckle.

Yeah, it's actually a bit challenging to wear.

I have been told to make it known that the red haired lady in the TARDIS cosplay is single and would not respond negatively to a kilted fellow near Williamsport, PA taking her out for a night on the town. My duty done, I return the discussion to the kilt.

Aww man - I live about 1100 miles from there. And I am pretty sure my wife has previously told me I'm not allowed to take other ladies out on the town. But she says I never listen so maybe I didn't hear that...I better check because I am all ......

nope, my wife is all ....Ah well, the red-haired lady is a cutie and I hope she finds a worthy gent. And I hope he finds a Tardis kilt as I believe they would make a striking couple out on the town in Tardis attire.
