Congratulations and best wishes to you both. Childhood is precious, they grow up so fast. Looks like he is blowing a practice chanter in his sleep. Bless you both.

Things went on hold while I visited the folks in New Mexico for a week. Back at it starting last Thursday.
Squats:
5x95#
5x115#
3x135#
Attempted another set of 3 @ 135 and failed on the last one. Still; that's much better than two weeks ago when trying more than one was threatening a back injury.
So then I backed off and decided to do a bunch at a lower weight.
10x95#
5x95#
5x95#
Overhead press
10x45#
10x45#
Dumbbell curls - I have a forearm injury that I've been nursing. It's starting to feel okay again.
5x20#GENTLY left side
5x25# right side
15 incline crunches
15 hanging knee lifts
Then I decided I wanted to do some deadlifts. I went over to the bumper plate area and it was pretty full. There was a guy snatching 155#, and I asked politely if I could deadlift it real quick between sets. I would have started out lower than this but I didn't want to break down his set up at all - I just wanted to do a quick set and get out of there. I figured if the first one didn't feel right, I could quit, but it went fine.
5x155#
I had my postpartum appointment yesterday and I got the official go-ahead to get back to it. She says I'm healing up just fine and that I just have to go easy and listen to my body - that the abdomen isn't the concern, but that with the recent surgery it's my back that is at the greatest risk since the abdomen isn't there to do its fair share (just as I noted back at week 6 when I felt that twinge during a weight that I used to lift with ease). I'm happy to report that at 8 weeks I am already feeling my strength returning, and I think I'm on the up-and-up. Feels good.
