We currently live in San Antonio! Welcome to the board and welcome (way early) to San Antonio! I would like to invite you to join the San Antonio Scottish Society (http://www.scottishsociety-sa.org/). It is a great way to get involved and learn about the culture. As a member you can take free piping lessons, nearly free Scottish Country Dancing lessons, society pic-nicks and much more. Look forward to meeting you!
Strength and Honor,
Jim

Helotes! I may end up living there--pretty country, and less crowded than SA proper. And now this to recommend it!

This is part of why I am checking these things out. I have been rootless the last 25 years, and I had hoped to find people with similar interests. The pipes aren't likely to happen (lest my wife dig out her clarinet from High School in retaliation), but the rest sounds wonderful.
I'll bookmark the website, and go to the next meeting when I am in town. Thank you.
Cordially,
Patrick

I may be commuting to your neck of the woods for work from time to time. I remember loving Austin when I lived in Killeen--so much to do there! It will be good to once again have access to HEB's Central Market.

Welcome from the Texas Hill Country. I live about 35 minutes past Helotes, out near Bandera. You'll be sorta in my neck of the woods if you move there. The suburb developments are going crazy in Helotes, so don't be surprised if the price of homes there is slightly higher than other areas around San Antonio.
