For formal events I usualy wear a goat hair sporran

But on occasions wear my musquash/muskrat sporran

I also have a sealskin sporran that originally could have been a twin of yours Nathan, but I changed out the cantle to one that is the same as the one on my goathair sporran.

Like a lot of fwllows, I am becoming quite fond of horsehair sporrans. I haven't ever worn one but they look so dashing!

My go-to sporran is a black one with some very detailed tooling by Tom Hays. I don't have a dedicated "evening" sporran but at the moment I attend so few black tie events (read virtually none) that I simply cannot justify the expense. If I did, however, it would be horsehair or fur with a snazzy cantle.

Nathan...this is my "go to" dress sporran. The lovely lass on my arm is my wife of almost 39 years. The sporran is badger from "L&M".

Here is my Full Dress Sporran a Sealskin from L&M. I picked this one up at Cairngorm Scottish Imports as an ex-rental. It might be a little worse for wear but I don't mind at all.

Here is another picture with my "horse hair" sporran. As Kyle mentioned, I think it covers too much of the apron.

    Hahaha!

    Cheers,
These examples are very smart looking indeed. I suppose I could always wear my full mask fox (pictured above) but I just prefer it with day wear as the taxidermy lacks a certain elegance. Also, I have the front paws and have experimented with affixing them, but on that particular sporran, I feel like they detract rather than add to the look. That said, I've seen a lifelike six tassel full mask badger with ornate silver tassel bells (possibly A&SH Officer's sporran?) which would be over the top with tweed.

There have been some absolutely unique and beautiful sporrans on display! So glad I started this thread. I want to 'Aye' everyone's post but alas, I cannot! Keep the full dress sporrans coming!

Red Fox fur & dark brown leather sporran; dark brown leather cone liners; Thistle cantle and matching cones
    Lamont Sporrans; Braemar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
Mr. Lamont told me what stone was in the Milk Thistle on the cantle, but I'm remiss

Such unique and interesting sporrans. From the perspective of having something unique, I might be better off sticking to my rabbit and fox tail combo although I like the sheen of the seal.

I wonder which one should be my go to formal sporran until such time as I can justify the expense of a one of a kind Artificer creation.
