Regarding the math on kilt weight- Remember that an 8-yard kilt is not 8 square yards unless the kilt is also a full 3 feet high.
Assuming the kilt is 24" high, (2/3 of a yard) an 8-yard kilt would only have 5.333 square yards, which would be 7.333 Lbs.
