Why ya gotta be like that, man? Can't you just answer a simple question from someone looking for help, instead of teasing and being cryptic?
The photo is very small and hard to see. All I can tell is that there are two different-colour stripes next to each other, separated by a red field. One of the stripes looks green, the other looks grayish. I can't find any tartan that looks like this. Granted, the online tartan libraries absolutely SUCK for trying to identify a tartan whose name you don't know, so I may be missing it.

I agree Tobus the picture is not clear enough, I can see a red field with what looks like a black stripe and another adjacent stripe of an indeterminate colour.
Give us a break Peter, I have spent many hours on this today and can't get any closer.

I've tried zooming in as far as my computer will let me. It's possible that this is a blue stripe next to a green stripe. Still can't find a tartan pattern that looks like it.
*edited to add: Peter, what is the name of that tartan? I don't find any MacGregor tartans listed that look like that.

Originally, I though it could possibly be the Macdonald of Sleat tartan, but upon further research and closer inspection, I quickly dismissed that.

Now, there's a better/clearer photo of the tartan! I know this particular photo, along with the original in question, was taken at the Balquhidder, Lochearnhead, and Strathyre Highland Games and Gathering, where the MacGregors, Macnabs and MacLarens are represented.

Here's the same chap (Robert Gibbons) from the photo in question. The second and third link shows Mr. Gibbons wearing a kilt in a different tartan than the photo in question:

I'm racking my brain here, but I must admit Peter, this is rather exciting!
Apparently, the chap in question is a Mr. Robert Gibbons, who has been Chieftain of the Balquhidder, Lochearnhead, and Strathyre Highland Games and Gathering. If we begin with his surname of Gibbons, I have learned that it is an associated name of Clan Campbell and Clan Buchanan (and why would a Campbell or a Buchanan be walking with a contingent of MacGregors in an obvious clan procession to the games field?). However, I have also learned through the years that you cannot completely rely upon one's surname in order to correctly identify which particular tartan they happen to be wearing, as this can quite easily be an uncorrelated aspect, which often occurs with individuals wearing Highland dress.
So, the question remains...which tartan is it?
A restricted, family tartan perhaps? We have obviously seen Mr. Gibbons and 4 other chaps wearing it. Is it a Clan Gregor tartan, since Mr. Gibbons and the other chap were walking with other MacGregors to include the Chief, Sir Malcolm Gregor Charles MacGregor of MacGregor, 7th BT, of Lanrick and Balquhidder, 24th Chief of Clan Gregor?
I'm truly baffled, yet very intrigued by this!
