Many thanks to Matt as well for sharing his bit of information in regards to the Lawers Estate tartan. I absolutely love the cross-exchange of information, historical attributes, interpretations, detailed descriptions, etc, in regards to the discussion of various tartans as represented so nicely in this thread. Things like this really make this forum a great place to be.

Well said Kyle, and Matt. I for one did not think that this was a futile exercise, the search for the identity was a thought provoking and informative discourse. Whether the OP meant us to collectively spend hours pouring over records matters not a jot. It was interesting to follow it through, and special thanks to Peter without whom this forum would be a much less informative place.
