Quarterly visit to Ackroyd's Scottish Bakery

I'm encouraged at work to take a Microsoft certification exam at least once a quarter. Kind of a pain since I have to study on my own time. However, one of the benefits is the testing center is only a few miles from Ackroyd's Scottish Bakery in Redford, Michigan.

    Today's haul:
Christmas Crackers - My daughter read about them in one the Harry Potter books (she's a bit obsessed).
Shortcrust Mini Minced Pies - Wife's favorite.
Oatcakes - So I can compare my homemade to something.
    Shortbread - Must have.
Butter Tarts (in the string wrapped box) - Another of my wife's favs.
Black Pudding (in string wrapped paper) - For me .
Barr's Originals Ginger Beer - Went in for a case but had to settle for the last 11 cans. It's like a ginger flavored drug to my family. Verners, my favorite local ginger ale is weak in comparison

What a mouth-watering haul. Everything look delicious. You're making me hungry. Merry Christmas!

    Darn it.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Tried the black pudding this morning. My wife and I raised our kids to be adventurous where food is involved. The often surprise us with what they like.

My daughter isn't much of a meat eater - but she likes meatloaf (turkey/beef), bacon (who doesn't), lamb, venison, and fish. She doesn't like beef or pork. My son, as with may young growing men, will eat just about anything.

Both of them tried a small piece of black pudding but did not like it at all. My wife decided not to try it after she caught a whiff from me cooking it.

I love it. I think I'll buy some white pudding next time so they can try that. I'm pretty sure I know what turned them off.

I am jealous. Nothing like that anywhere near here. This area is too conservative to have anything like that.

If you cannot fix it, mess it up so bad that no one else can either.
