Suppose so. Won't bore you all with a ripping yarn but while on a rugby tour got mugged by a few local types. while very drunk. I got a bit aggressive when a knife was pulled on me and it got stuck in the soft leather.
The sporran tore open and eventually all my stuff ended up on the street ready to be collected by them while the sporran itself ended up ruined with the strap and chain broken and the 2 plates only attached by a small piece of leather.
So I picked it up and attempted to use it as a weapon, flailing madly (and pointlessly) at them as they made off with my money with me in very, very slow pursuit.
As I did not have a spare on that trip, one of the guys fitted a polythene bag over the front to keep it together. We nicknamed it a "Glesgae sporran". Most glaswegians know that there are few uses that a poly bag can't be put to.

I noticed you didn't list these with the rest of the sale on ebay, fitzer100.
As I mentioned in another thread, that exact sporran was my go to sporran for years (right down to the red leather). I really liked it and thought it was quite eye catching. The sgian is also quite smart.
Here are some action shots of that sporran so you can decide what you think. The cream coloured seal fur used to really set off my cream coloured hose.

My advise is keep it or send it my way. I'm still mourning that sporran. Memories.

Why would you get rid of them?
They look to be of good quality and appealing design. There's nothing wrong with having some options that don't get worn too often. Variety is the spice of life

Aha, so you broke my secret codename! Yeah, it's not an heirloom or anything. I picked up the whole outfit in order to get these items but now I'm under a bit of pressure about it.
I do tend to buy and sell a bit on ebay anyway but sometimes it's just too difficult to let go of something so nice. Which is why I have 8 sporrans. I agree that sporrans are meant to be worn which is why I really like good day sporrans. If I do sell, I would prefer it to go to an xmarker who would wear it.
By the way, I didn't mention the ebay auctions on the other things because I believe it isn't right to use the forum to promote private selling elsewhere. But it's now in the public domain, as it were.

Glad to hear you resolved your dilemma, Kiltfitz. When faced with difficult choices, I know I always feel a great sense of relief once I make a decision and can then move on to the next conundrum.

I'm just glad that you're okay, mate. It could have been much worse than a broken sporran.
Edited to add: best of luck selling this one pictured.
