Now comes the waiting ...
Crossed another item off my bucket list and ordered a 5-yard wool kilt from Rocky in the Scottish National tartan last Thursday.
I have been wanting a good wool kilt since I started wearing kilts and the stars aligned perfectly that I could afford one. (Without even selling off any kidneys or other major organs!)
USA Kilts being only 45 minutes away from my house is not always a good thing for my wallet, but there is nothing really like the feeling of getting measured for a fine article of clothing you know you are going to enjoy for years.
Of course, then I get told it will be about 8 weeks until it is finished. *sigh*

Congratulations there is nothing quite like wool, and the wait will be exquisite knowing that the drab winter months will soon pass until the spring when you will have a beautiful new kilt made by the expertise of Rocky & co.

Congratulations! And just think, for 8 weeks, whenever anything gets you down, the thought of that kilt on its way will lift your spirits.

Dutchy, my in-laws live just about 45 minutes away from USA Kilts too, and my wife bought me an American Heritage kilt and I just got my Williams of Wales (see my avatar) kilt in wool - Rocky does a wonderful job! Wore it for our Christmas Picture we have sent to all our family.

Dutchy, welcome to the club. I figure I'm about half way through the wait, and it isn't getting any easier. Warning: those 5-yarders are addictive—this will be my third when it arrives. Rocky should steal a line from Lays potato chips . . . "bet you can't wear just one." (At different times, of course.) It will all be worth it.

I have two of their 5 yard wool kilts and an 8 yard to boot. Congratulations and here's hoping your wait isn't too painful.

35 Weeks?!?! I had a heart attack until I read the second half of the sentence. I think our longest EVER was 16 weeks on a custom weave where the mill lost my order.

Ya wouldn't wanna order a wool kilt from a kiltmaker with no backlog anyway - that would be like being foolish enough to eat in an empty restaurant....
The cure for the jones is to shop for accessories while you're waiting....

It was fun to see the boxes and boxes of kilts stacked in the doorway of the store ready to go out.
Talk about making someone's Christmas merry!
