My screen name is a combination of my ancestry and my first name--best I could come up with when I joined. My avatar is the Wallace tartan, which is my surname.

My screen name is a a twist on my occupation. I am a CAD draftsman, so I figured I would try to be clever and change it to plaid.
My avatar is a picture of the kilt pin, on my Black Watch kilt, I bought at the Wisconsin Highland Games this year. It thought it looked pretty cool with the Badger (state animal) on it.
My signature is a quote from a song from one of my favorite and local bands - Mr. Lucky Swing Syndicate
I've got big shoes to fill ... so I wear big socks!

Interesting thread...my screen name is because I was born and grew up in the California "highlands", I like the connection to my Scottish ancestry, and my current residence is about 9 blocks from Highland Avenue. The avatar is a tartan I made online from the local school colors of purple, white, and black with a bit of blue thrown in for interest. The local middle school teams are the Scots, the high school teams are the Highlanders, and the city emblem has a thistle on it, so it all seems to fit.
My signature started as a series of quotes from Jack Kerouac, but now I have a genealogical list of related Scottish family names in order of closest connection to Scotland (aka most recent immigrants to the USA) or at least somewhat, as my signature.
Clan Mackintosh North America / Clan Chattan Association
Cormack, McIntosh, Gow, Finlayson, Farquar, Waters, Swanson, Ross, Oag, Gilbert, Munro, Turnbough,
McElroy, McCoy, Mackay, Henderson, Ivester, Castles, Copeland, MacQueen, McCumber, Matheson, Burns,
Wilson, Campbell, Bartlett, Munro - a few of the ancestral names, mainly from the North-east of Scotland

My screen name is my first name and last initial.
My avatar is Castle Tioram. It sits on a small island in Loch Moidart off the west coast of Scotland and at one time was the home of the Captain of Clanranald.
The signature is a quote from an ambassador to the Scottish court. Apparently he did not enjoy his stay.
Edit: Somebody else just asked about my signature line so I dug through my books to find it again. It comes from Pedro de Ayala who was the ambassador from the court of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain to James IV.

My screen name is just my name. My avatar is the MacDonald of Clanranald crest engraved on a grave stone in Maryvale, Nova Scotia at the cemetery filled with the earthly remains of several generations of my ancestors. My ancestor Angus who emigrated to Nova Scotia with his father and his brother in 1804 is buried with his wife there along with several generations of his descendants. His father-in-law Roderick "Ruiridh Clearach" MacDougall is also buried there.
My signature is my full name in Gaelic - as well as a little sentence explaining that I was born and raised on Cape Breton Island but live in Toronto now.
Finally, I have a quote from the Canadian Boat Song. The Canadian Boat Song, was published in "Blackwood's Magazine" September 1829, for the first time.
And although it has a certain relevance to all Canadians of Highland stock, this quote sums up the cultural identity of many Cape Bretoners. We are proud Canadians yet we are aware that we are Gaels and live that culture collectively every day so still the blood is strong, the heart is Highland...
I chose this quote to demonstrate that Gaelic culture is not simply the heritage of my fore-bearers but is the culture of my native Island and childhood and is an integral part of who I am.
Rather than conceal my identity on here which may have been wise, I chose to display it with pride in the same way one does when they adorn themselves in a clan tartan and badge.

With the utmost respect for Father Bill, a fellow "man of the cloth" so to speak ( even tho my responsibilities are of a different culture and nation), I will also answer the question and add my humble voice to this thread.
My "screen name" is simply a part of the "English" translation of my Tribal name, one that many can actually speak. The avatar, is that of a painting by a non-indigenous artist ( Robert Griffing ) that I respect for his accurate portrayal of many of our Eastern Woodland People, at the time soon after contact with the "visitors". Also in this painting, there is a portrayal of a Scot, new to this continent, together with the local tribal man, both being Warriors in that age and time. The signature at the bottom depicts a simplified version of my wide and varied background, only being a small indication of what flows through my veins. For further info, please refer to the "about me" section of my personal info page.

My screen name is the eBay handle I've had since around 1997 or '98. My Eagle Scout certificate is dated January 27, 1972 and I was the 43rd approved that month, hence:eagle43172. When I signed up for this forum they asked for a name and that cought me off guard, so instead of something really cleaver or Scottish the only thing that popped into my head was my eBay name.
The current avatar is a pic of me and my 4 year old grandson at the 2013 Salado, TX highland gathering. He had just gotten a kilt (minutes before) and was so proud that he had to wear it for the rest of the day. The sporran and bonnet I'd gotten him peicemeal over the last couple of years so now he is complete!
Signature is just my name.

My screen name is because my hunting nickname has always been the "wolfman" and since I've been kilted for over 2 decades it seemed a logical add-on, my avatar is a pic of me in Goldstream park one day while I sporting my Autobot themed sporran. I figured both it and myself are far too handsome not to use. And my signature is simple my initial and last name.
