    See, this is why I love this forum. It went from being an apparent "Frankencrest" and bizarre affront to history to likely being a legitimate, albeit obscure, crest of Urquhart of Meldrum, Aberdeenshire in just a few hours. Well done Arnot and everyone!

    Taking a different possibility...

    It is not at all uncommon for us to see members try to explain a variety of scottish connections with the expressed intent of asking the rabble how they can represent ALL the scottish connections/lineage lines simultaneously. Perhaps, someone decided to do so in a subtle (to them) way by combining crests for their own sake as a kilt pin?

    Clearly, I am speculating and have no reason to believe my own point. I just toss it out there as it is what first popped into my head.
