    Power to the Cilt/Kilt

Elaine and myself took off on the bus yesterday to a small market town in the Vale of
Glamorgan. As we got off the bus there was a handwritten blackboard sign advertising a pub up the road which opens early to serve teas/coffees and breakfasts etc only, before their official seving alchohol times (which starts at 11am). We decided tea and toast was the order of the day before we went on to get some shopping. The place was only a minute walk away. There were just a few other shoppers inside doing the same thing when we got there. A small table by the wood fire was free, so we took it which made it all nice and cosy (although outside it was blue skies and very very mild). There was a lady sat at the bar having toast and a guy behind the bar (who it turned out to be the landlady and landlord). It was only a small room. As we were settling in, the landlady looked over, smiled , said hello, and immediately asked is that a welsh cilt. I said it was, and she said it was nice to see. She then enquired if I was involved in anything, All I said was,.. I’m involved in music and have a band, but wear a cilt regardless of that.. In her next breath she launched into enquiring what type of music our band plays. I told her (and now the landlord behind the bar was joining in too).
The outcome was, they have not long started putting on live music in a larger room at the back of the pub and they are looking for bands to perform. We both exchanged a load of info /contact numbers/webs and it looks like we shall be getting a gig there very shortly.
A very unexpected conversation with a possible unexpected outcome. All thanks to a cilt ... guess nought would have happened at all if I had had jeans on.

Good to hear you got yourself bigger all in three minutes, Derek. It take most of us much longer than that and here you have prospects for a new gig and just because you stopped in for morning tea and toast in jeans and between buses
