Team Scotland Tartan for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

You do remember the Scotland National Football team has worn Primrose and Pink shirts periodically throughout their history.
This as a nod to Lord Rosebery, a major investor in Hearts FC in the very late C19. The shirts were worn up through the 1950's and then once in the 1990's and haven't seen a return since. I have a reproduction of the 1909 shirt in the "Rosebery Colours" - hoops.

Like many of you, I was brought up to never comment on people's family tartans (except to compliment really sharp ones).

This is not a family tartan. This is, indeed, a joke of the corporate calibre. I fear that the North American view of "make a tartan for everything" is creeping over to your side of the pond.

Although I don't have a want list, I do now have an "avoid" list.

Just a brief point of reference...I work for one of the largest global fashion companies which shall remain nameless for now. My experience with designers ranges from footwear to apparel. To sum it up just s few words is "They Are All Nuts". Most of them dress like circus clowns and to be honest act like them as well (no offense to circus clowns). They have these grandiose ideas of what people should wear but the reality is it takes teams of really talented people to take their warped visions and make them into to clothes you see and buy in the stores. Unfortunately I don't think that tartan is going to look good no matter who puts it on.
