    Burns Night in Whitby Ontario

As mentioned on a couple of other threads, I was hired to be the entertainment at the Royal Oak, Whitby Shores Robbie Burns pub night in Whitby, Ontario. There was a great turn out last night and all in all it was a fun evening. I made use of the Robbie Burns phone app that McMurdo posted and read a few poems. I was put on the spot to do the address to a Haggis but that went well enough. Had I known, I would have memorized it. At the St. Andrew's Society Burns Night I attended the previous evening, I met a very nice piper named Jamie McLean who, along with his lovely wife, comes originally from New Zealand. When Jamie heard that there wasn't a piper scheduled for the Whitby Burns Night, he showed up and did some piping for free. That was very kind of him, indeed. I certainly wish I had a photo of that, but alas, I was not the photographer. I also got the chance to take my recently dyed tumeric yellow hose out for a spin but the top of one sock is all that can be seen in these photos. Some of you may also recognize the not-quite-old MacMillan tartan which I used to make a sash for the lovely and talented Emily Yarascavitch.

I have a few photos to share.

Nathan, wonderful pictures; you both look great! Any chance a video from this may be popping-up on YouTube?

Sounds like a wonderful evening. Nice of the piper to step in (I can't imagine a Burns Night without a piper.)

That's actually what prompted me to hope for more. I really enjoy that one and especially this one,

I'm not sure if anyone recorded video. Guess I'll find out eventually.
