I wish I could offer some helpful advice, or recommendations, for your trip, Andrew. Unfortunately, I am ashamed to admit that I have never been to Ireland!

The Book of Kells was already on my list, but thanks for the recommendation.
Derek - I have been to Wales before (I lived in England for a year and did a lot of travelling, around the country and in Scotland and Wales) but if time allows me I'll take you up on your offer and drop you a line.
Andrew.

I'll be there too!
We are leaving this Friday, heading to Ireland for 10 days. We fly to Shannon and drive to SW parts from there. My wife has made all the arrangements so I don't know any of the details. I've heard her say stuff like Cork, Cliffs of Mohr, Abby Glen, Dingle, Kerry ....
We may see you out-n-about! If you see some Americans in a teeny rental car (and I'll probably be in a kilt and hiking boots) -- give a holler!
Have a great trip!

Dingle was one of my favourite places. The scenery is outstanding, and the place itself is wonderful. I also enjoyed Belfast (more so than Dublin) and the Aran islands are not to be missed.
Enjoy your trip Andrew. Three months in Ireland is truly something to envy.

Andrew, my daughter Shannon leaves Saturday for Dublin where she'll be at University for the semester. We hope to join her there for Christmas, so if you're there and see an Anderson kilt say Hi, it might be me, if not then I hope you have a great time.

Well I'm off to the Emerald Isle this afternoon. I hope to be able to check in here from time to time, but if not, I hope everyone enjoys the next three months - I know I will!
Andrew.

Hopefully, you will introduce this Website to the Irish Locals.
