Hmm...haven't decided yet. I have a length of Sutherland Reproduction and I have some of the latest run of the R'lyeh set. Or I might see if Steve can get me some of the X-Marks tartan. Probably knife pleats to the stripe, but we'll see. And I'll give the pockets a go.

I'm definitely looking forward to learning some techniques for machine stitching.

I'm new here, but would be very interested in attending as well! Both courses sound awesome and I would take either one if there was space.

I have two tartans in mind for this summer's Kilt Kamp. The first is 'Auld Scotland' woven by Lochcarron:Click image for larger version.

The second is 'Scottish Odyssey' also woven by Lochcarron and both come in 16 oz. I'd really like to try my hand at making a box-pleat or I'd be just as happy making a knife-pleat to the set. Maybe I'll do both!!!!

That's right, Barb, it was at Kilt Kamp last year that I had set eyes on the 'Scottish Odyssey' tartan you had made into a box-pleat kilt. I think my mind is made up!!

I'm still trying to decide on the tartan. I have long wanted a kilt in Maple Leaf, but I fear that tartan might be too challenging for me. I'm really trying to decide between British Columbia and Caledonia Ancient, both of which I'm very attracted to.

Just remember that the Maple Leaf is an asymmetric tartan, so you will not be able to work with a double width piece. Be sure to get a single width, 8 yard piece!
