    The bloody things are breeding......

I started a thread a couple of weeks ago about a sporran I bought (unseen) at an auction - http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...at-find-82640/

When talking to a friend about this he said he had an old sporran in the garage somewhere and was I interested. Of course I said not really since I had more sporrans than one could shake a stick at. But he was insistent so I took if off his hands......

A sporran collection seems like a good way to part you from your small change.

At this rate, you're going to run out of room to store them all. When that happens, just send one my way, and I'll be happy to hold it for you at no charge.

Wow! First the MOD cantles, then two very atypical vintage goat hair sporrans in such amazing condition. How fortunate for you! It's hard to believe one man can be so lucky. What are the chances?!

"jammy bastard" is how I was described by an about to be ex-friend, but the trick is to keep the old Reticular Activating Centre functioning

Goodness, you should wear a hard hat- these things seem to be falling out of the sky around you!

That's a beauty and looks like it's in fantastic condition, especially considering it was kept out in a garage.
Congratulations on yet another great score.

Actually I had to do a bit of work on the sporran - removing and polishing the cantle and shampooing (dry shampoo) the goat hair. I used a bit of hydrogen peroxide on the silver bullion tassels of which there were five but I'm still undecided whether the sporran looks better with three (as in the photograph) or the original five.

If they are indeed breeding, save a pup for me. Very handsome.
