Salfaye sporrans?
Anybody heard of these?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Salfaye-Fur-...item3cdc066cbf
Some very interesting designs. Some are traditional-looking and some are very strange.
Are they Pakistani? If so, they're not the derivative-looking things one usually associates with Pakistani sporrans.

running a quick whois and linkin check, and judging by the other items the ebay store is selling I'm nearly 100% certain this is all Pakistani.
The owner lists University of Punjab on his profile, and barring the few odd sporrans all the other stuff is very standard issue Asian-Highland stuff.
edit: I wanted to add that appears to be a very poor knockoff of Wyvern's Pictish Boar sporran

That would fit with the structure of the ad copy, it reads like English is the writer's second language and not their mother tongue.

Indeed, it does. Good catch, artificer.

It does indeed look like one of Donnie haileys sporrans. This is my actual Wyvern sporran made by Donnie, my bespoke Grizzly sporran based upon his original such as the Pictish boar design -

As they say, "Better is the enemy of good."
Until you se the Wyvern one, the Salfaye sporran looks OK.

Agree 100% with Artificer. I've seen that sporran on Pakistani company websites and I agree that it was a poor copy of Donnie's work. The other dead giveaway is the BRIGHT NEON red Royal Stewart that they used for the backdrop.

Yes a good catch there Artificer!
Those are very nice Wyvern sporrans there! Oddly, when I clicked on their site, I couldn't find any sporrans that looked remotely like those, either in the 'sporrans' section or in the 'photos' section; all the sporrans are bags with big flaps.
EDIT: on further looking, I do see some sporrans like the ones above on the 'custom' page.

"CAVEAT EMPTOR". May the buyer beware! There is too,too much fakery on some e sites these days. You need to know exactly with whom you are dealing with. Regards Mattie
