Well, Geoffrey (Tailor) has two shops and they are continuing business in the other one. We are after all only talking about property, not kilts.

Indeed, but being a retired moderator my comment would be unseemly.

    My Hope

....is a quick and painful bankruptcy as people do not provide them any custom. Gold Brothers would never get a dime from me.

This is prime site tourist trap and at least the actual kilt maker there had been Geoffrey (Taylor). However if I wanted to trade with them (and I do) I would prefer to go to their rather classier upstairs bespoke tailors shop down the road.
I trade with the Gold Brothers website too, but caveat emptor

You know I have several from HOS and to be truthful I am quite happy with both the product and service. I know that you only get what you pay for but if that is what you expect they are fine casual daily wear knock-arounds.
I'll not be lied to , stolen from or laid a hand upon. I do this to no man and I require the same in return.

Seanachie, from the perspective of someone who lives in Scotland and is dependent on Scotland's economy thriving, I cannot agree with your comment.
By all means you are free to never spend a dime of your own money with Gold Brothers, however for you to express a desire that nobody will buy their products and that they will go bankrupt is uncalled for.
I am no lover of Gold Brothers, but they do help our balance of payments by selling a lot of cheap tartan tat to tourists, as well as being an important retail outlet in Edinburgh for our locally produced high quality Hawick Cashmere.

I am not a customer of Gold Bros and probably never will be but what you cannot deny is that they have a successful business strategy, more successful than Geoffrey Tailor obviously.
Whether anyone likes it or not, they must be selling what people want, especially in these days of "pile it high, sell it cheap". It is just a sign of the times that few people nowadays are prepared to pay what it costs for high quality clothing, especially when most others are unable to distinguish between cheap mass produced clothing and good tailoring, mainly because that is all they know themselves.
And finally their customers have the satisfaction of knowing that they are providing employment in some of the more deprived countries in the world such as Pakistan and, hopefully lifting some out of poverty that might otherwise starve or fall under the influence of terrorist organisations.
