What on earth is THIS?! (Suspicious eBay Find)

I've never seen anything like this before... Canadian, perhaps? Maybe an old band uniform?

    The world may never know...

If it's Canadian I don't recognize it, it is certainly not cut for a kilt.

If the collar dogs are anything to go by, then at a moderately educated guess, I suggest its a tunic of a bugler of the Light Infantry (Rifle Brigade/Royal Green jackets).

    There we go.

It appears that the shoulder shells were added on later on in its life. The curtain tassels are rather odd looking, too.

Whilst I bow to Jock's keen eye, given it's location and the ubiquitous nature of this style of jacket in Glasgow, my guess is that it's first home was with one of the (sadly) numerous uber sectarian Fife & Drum Corps which pound the pavements of Glasgow regularly at the weekends in the summer months at ungodly early hours for the sole purpose (in my view) of spoiling the decadently luxurious traditional Saturday morning long lie. The nearly always universally garish uniforms are based on fanciful variations of military doublets with yards of curtain braid and fist-sized tassels.

    Orionson.

Oh I know the sounds those Fife & Drum Corps only too well!

If you google Royal Green Jackets and then click on images and then scroll down about a quater of the page you will come to a modern photograph of the Royal Green Jackets band marching in, I think, London with Union Jacks flying in the background. You will see clearly the collar dogs and how the braid should be worn quite clearly. Sadly the picture is copyrighted, so I dont feel that I can "borrow" it to put here.

Done. Of course, you are correct. Royal Green Jackets, it surely is. Well done.
