What a great idea. I've recently taken up fly fishing, and will have to get with my buddy who ties to see if we can come up with one of these.

Very nice idea! I may have to tie a few of these!

Very clever idea and I'm impressed! I'm not fan of those kind of pins, you have managed to sell me on this pin Hide that ugly pin head by just masquerading as a hook's barb. I love fishing for trout and just at right time to see this.

I gotta grab some of those pins next time I shop then break out my fly tying gears!

    Bravo!

P.S. Have you ever thought about tying on the opposite direction? Put pin upside down and it looks like actual hook from distance.

What an amazingly simplistic and beautiful fly/ kilt pin. I don't know how I didn't think of it. ;)
I have made a few pair of mayfly earrings for my wife so why not a kilt pin? Although as a stream trout fisherman I might have a hard time with the size. Most of my flies tend to be in the 18-24 size. I can just imagine a big streamer though. Brings new meaning to " match the hatch " (match the kilt).

I haven't tied in many years but maybe one of these would entice my husband to actually wear the kilt he has?

Awesome idea. I'll have to tie some up. So many great patterns to choose from. I like the hair wing version since it would be more durable than a feather wing.
