Thanks. I went to Marton Mills to purchase some tartan. I bought 4 meters each of 3 different tartans. I saw a length of this tartan (already cut and standing in the corner) and was admiring it when the boss walked into the room. He threw it in with my order for free. I thought it might be a couple meters or something, but when I measured it it was 4 meters. It was enough for a kilt so my course of action became clear.

Thanks Grizzly. Interesting colours, certainly something to consider eventually. At the present time, there are 3 tartans that I'm particularly interested in, but I have a hard time making up my mind: Cameron of Erracht Muted, MacLeod of Harris Ancient Hunting (somewhat similar colours...) and Stuart of Bute from Lochcarron (I love the red of this one)...

That is a glorious tartan which I've always desired, and I do have a Clan Cameron connection, but too far back for me to "claim" that one I think... Still, it's how I got my name.

    Cheers,

    Cameron

I too have long wanted a Cameron of Erracht kilt, and that's the loveliest colour scheme I've ever seen it done in!

And what a fanastic-looking kilt! I've never seen COE pleated that way. It's great.

I myself would love to have one boxpleated to the yellow line, in other words looking like an early Cameron Highlanders kilt.

Like the one that appears in this thread, sort of

Thanks again Arnot! You've answered the question I had in mind in your previous post... I was under the impression the material might come from House of Edgar... This tartan pleated to the bar is very nice indeed!
