    Gatlinburg Gathering

after JohnAllens post earlier, my brain started clickity-clackering, which usually means i'll get into trouble .... but

i haven't searched the forum yet but i seem to recall a mention of Bear(i think) trying to organize a West Coast Gathering of the Kilted Clan.

as the Appalachian Mountains was a large entry point for Scot/Irish immigrants, i thought i'd throw out the idea of an East Coast Gathering of the Kilted Clan in Gatlinburg.

would anyone be interested in something like this? of course G-burg hosts the Gatlinburg Highland Games during the month of May and that could be a target date.

i think it would be a great thing. G-burg hosts many activities; car shows, rod runs, bike runs, church gatherings .... etc,etc....

i'm sure i could get a little input from Celtic Heritage shop in G-burg and perhaps a couple other contacts i have there.

just an idea, but any thoughts on this?

I'm sticking with the Vancouver Gathering, but this sounds like a great idea. Perhaps it could be done on the same week for those in the South that cannot make Vancouver.

    gatherings...

You chaps may be on to something here: regional gatherings of "kilties".

I would like to suggest the St. Louis Scottish games for the Midwest.

    Cheers,

    T.

I would still like to see as many of you as possible up here in BC next August. We would love to have the largest Gathering of the Kilts Canada has seen. Besides, who could resist meeting Hamish . Not to mention Hank and the other possible attendees.

I'm still planning to attend! August seems like such a long way off, though.

I am still planning to attend even though my calendar is filling up fast. The only wrench in this for me is my niece's wedding which is tenatatively scheduled for August, but it is going to be in Jamaica.
