Harrison Bailey III was a top pro thrower for many years and just recently retired. You will find a number of clips of him throwing on YouTube and the search will be time well spent. A great thrower and, from all accounts, a class act.

In my experience, I have been on the field throwing with competitors from just about any background you can name. The only requirement is to strap on a kilt and, when your name is called, step into the trig and throw. Anyone who does that will have all the encouragement and support he or she could ask for.

People have often told me in jest that we're "black" Campbells.

I was at the tartan day parade in NYC Saturday, and not only were there plenty of folks of color in kilts, Clan Italia marched in the parade! I had a real nice black fellow we met at our Megabus stop waiting to go home at the end of the day asking me why all the kilts around the city. So I told him about tartan day, and that it really was Sunday, but NYC did their parade on Saturday to get people to come. Turned out he was waiting for a bus to Philly (we were headed home to Albany), and I told him that I knew Philly had tartan day stuff going on and he should check it out. (I knew about the Philly stuff because Rocky had invited people to it on Facebook.)

Anyways, maybe not terribly related to the thread, but I was impressed Saturday with the number of kilted folks of color in New York.

    Cheers!

Interesting! I thought you looked more like the "soup" Campbells - I stand corrected. Any relation to any of these folks? If so, you're in good company. Talented family! ;)

I've seen Harrison Bailey compete at the New Hampshire Games a few times. He was very successful. Competition knows no race and the games crowds are responsive to great performances.
