Well I've been away, Allen, you see, and not able to see what you have been drinking. But that doesn't mean I've been abstemious: a few days ago The Glenrothes, last night Laddie10 and, tonight, The Singleton. There! Shared!
Now I don't know JW Dant's. Is that a 'merican whiskey? If so, tell us more.

Sorry, I made a spelling error, it is blended Scotch whisky. It is very inexpensive. It has a pretty amber color, an earthy aroma, and tastes pretty smooth.

A pair of portions of Speyburn Bradan Orach, what has become the "travelling" bottle of single malt between my house and a nearby neighbor friend. Whenever the current possessor of the bottle is visiting the other's house for a dram the bottle is brought along for a visit and a taste, and then to reside at the others abode until that one makes the trek to the first's home for a drink and conversation, whereupon the bottle returns with him to partake. And so on and so forth. And the bottle is nigh empty now---maybe worth one more "visit". After that we will start anew with another new and different bottle to set out upon the "travels". Convenient excuse to drink fine whisky and spend time with friends.

Had a nip (or two) of Glenmorangie LaSanta last night with a Young's Double Chocolate Stout. Great stuff.

My latest favorite: Aberlour A'bunadh. Cask strength and matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry butts.
Was introduced to it by Pour1Malt when in Scotland earlier this month.

And a few 'Ruthven by Moy' for me tonight, but you'll not find that young one on any Oddbins shelf Rough on the tongue, with an odour of Welly and a hint of freshened cow, a taste of silage, a lick of salt with old nails and iron shoes....

Your description kinda reminds me of my first wife, but her name was not Ruthven.

After almost four straight weeks of working through lunches and breaks and a couple hours a night overtime everynight, I cranked out my workload today and was done 15 minutes after my scheduled quitting time, so I was able to get out and soak in a little sunshine with the wife and a friend, and with my boy throwing a Frisbee on the driveway. Somewhere in there I managed to enjoy a double of 10 year old Teanininch secondary bottling by Prime Malts. Light, a little sweet, a touch of iodine and the slightest hint of a back bite. Not sure why I do not drink it more often. I deserved it tonite.

Pinned up a kilt and the hip was bang on at 41 inches on the first try. I figured that earned me a few fingers of Speyburn 10.
