Very nice photograph, thanks for sharing.
As the caption implies, this parade relates to the peculiar geography at the eastern end of the Scottish border. Berwick Upon Tweed is an English market town, although it is situated north of the Scottish border. Can be very confusing!

Glad you appreciated it. Isn't Berwick trying to become part of Scotland?

It's actually "changed hands" several times. This led to the curious status with Russia, where some hold that it is still at war with Russia (from the Crimean war 150 or so years ago) while others claim a peace treaty was signed in 1966. See
