Hate the jones this dang early

I placed an order with Rocky today, and got a call to clarify some things, from the man himself. Talk about killer customer service. I am anxious to have this kilt already...lol.

It's a special kilt for me. It's going to be worn, in Scotland, while I'm having lunch with the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs as a Board member in COSCA (Council of Scottish Clans & Association). So who do I turn to when I need that very special kilt? Rocky, that's who.

I put a special 2 week out the door rush...but even that is killing me to wait...lol

Thanks again Rocky for making killer kilts.

Oh why, oh why did I not pay a little extra for the rush 2 weeks shipping?

Tomorrow I hit the five week mark and it's all I can think about lately. It's my first kilt and I'm extremely excited.

My grandfather fought with the Canadian-Scots regiment in WW1 and told me about how they were called the screaming ladies (because they wore kilts and were hard fighters) by the Germans and I've wanted one ever since.

I could only get the wife to okay a semi-trad this time so had to pick Macleod(of which MacCorquodale is listed as a sept) since there were no MacCorquodale tartans listed in semi-traditionals.

Oh well, maybe the next time she who must be obeyed allows me to splurge.

Hopefully, it will look okay on a guy my size.

I've read accounts that the Germans called the Scots 'Ladies from Hell." Imagine the sight that inspired these descriptions!

I hope that "she who must be obeyed" does allow you to splurge. I am saving up for a MacDonald of Sleat (my branch of that large family).

Guy your size? Large or small? I am a gentleman of substance...6' 1" and a wee bit over 300lbs and my kilts fit me just fine. Just as long as you measure correct places and do it twice, you should have no trouble.

Speaking of Macleod, did you get the "loud" Macleod?

I'm about 340 and 6'. I'm not worried about it fitting, I'm more worried about me looking ridiculous. Hard to believe I was a punkrocker 23 years ago and didn't care what people thought, sigh. Now I care for some darn reason.

No, I didn't get the loud Macleod but was very, very tempted to. I love loud clothing, shoes, etc. and have wanted to get that tartan for a long time. Maybe the next semi trad.

I figured I'd go low key for my first kilt and got the hunting.

Kilts do have a slimming look, trust me. I look much thinner in my kilts than I ever did in pants. Wear it with pride, you will look just fine.
