I am with Kyle on this one. I put on a shirt, then tie, then waistcoat and jacket. For me those are just layers. As it get warmer, I will wear fewer layers.
Although, I have been know to wear a nice polo shirt in more casual settings, but less frequently lately.
I have yet to wear a polo shirt with the kilt, but I may have to try it sometime. Obviously, solid colours (no stripes or prints) that tone/contrast well with the tartan of my kilt would be my preferred choice. I recall seeing our forum's own, Sandy (JSFMACLJR) wearing his MacLean Hunting kilt with a navy, or possibly black Lacoste polo in warm weather and it looked quite smart!
