My screen name, scottmphoto. My first name, Scott, the first letter of my last name, McClure, and I have loved photography for a very long time. I have been a professional photographer in the past, both with a studio and as a photojournalist. Now, I only make photographs that make me happy.
Oh yeah, my avatar is my family crest , minus the motto at the top.

screen name: got asked to come up with one, surprised no one had taken it.
avatar: hung up on Book of Kells, found the "dog image". will probably end up on my next Wyvern sporran.
signature: a small version has been taped to my desk for years. had a receptionist who always had "self help" life lesson calendars/notebooks at her space. after a particularly trying shift and a long night, did not conduct myself in accord with the sentiment in the quote, and was embarassingly unkind to someone whose only fault was an horrific upbringing in an horrendous social environment. (I ask for trust it was way out of my usual character. ). Came back to the office and my now signature was quote of the day. Felt like a schmuck, seemed like a sign. Has been my reminder every day since.
Wow. long explanation. Thanks for the indulgence.

My name is Alan Hebert. There's the screen name part.
As for the Lebowski part of the signature and avatar, I owe everything to GGGP. Actually the "aethete" part is Tylers fault and the "tasteful" part hearkens back a few years to a long series of interactions around here about who is a "gentleman" and who isn't.

I believe it's a screen-name of a member here: Good Girl Gone Plaid.

I was given that nick name by my 2 younger sisters but not for wearing the kilt, but for my "all akilter" way of things, especially my sense of humor. The kilts just make it all the better.
My signature is a quote from one Harry Scott of Aberdeen, who introduces himself that way and he has allowed me to borrow that from him. My avatar is the Scott crest overlaid on the Scott red dress tartan I made up years ago...

The name of my clan is my user name, and my avatar is the corresponding family crest, which I know by the rules of heraldry I am not entitled to, before anyone else says it.

My screen name is taken from the Marvel comics superhero Black Panther (yes, I am a geek and very proud to be!).
My avatar was originally a stormtrooper in a kilt, which I thought was awesome and in keeping my love of geek. I changed it recently to the "keep calm and wear a kilt" picture just cos.
With the signature, I wanted something that would appeal to as wide and varied a demographic as the members of XMTS. I found the Martin Luther King quote to be spot on and works on several levels.

Just changed my avatar. It is Cape Breton Island with the Cape Breton tartan imposed upon it. I have seen this image most of my life. People have had this done variations on this theme as a tattoo etc...
The interesting thing is that the tartan looks like the Island. Here is the poem upon which the actual tartan was based.
THE LADY OF THE LOOM
A lady sat beside her loom,
With yarns of every hue;
To weave Cape Breton tartan
She only chose a few.
Black for the wealth of our coal mines,
Grey for our Cape Breton steel,
Green for our lofty mountains,
Our valleys and our fields.
Gold for the golden sunsets
Shining bright on the lakes of Bras d’Or,
To show God’s hand hath lingered
To bless Cape Breton’s shores.
As she watched the pattern grow,
Then she could understand -
Her shuttle had been guided
By the Master Weaver’s hand.
