I agree with Father Bill's sentiment here. I only posted because it seemed like the OP was having a legitimately difficult time figuring this out. This as well as other restroom business has been addressed in previous threads.

I think we will get this as long as new blood joins the forum. This one would be hard to find with a search. I can't even imagine the terms to use.
We could create a kilt 101 tutorial section that includes the basic things done in and around the kilt? May of us can't ask dad.
Addendum: Bathroom brings up 419 strings and the first 50 don't look like what the seeker wants.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Maybe such a tutorial could be done a bit more tastefully than some of what's happened here.

It sure doesn't hurt to know about various and sundry best practices from you veteran kilt wearers.

Just my thoughts Minus HD. Pass on the wisdom I say and although topics do come up over and over new people don't see the old ones do they and apart from anything else it was meant to be a funny thread. and any thread that gets people talking on a forum is good.
You can get a lot of watchers who don't post or hardly at all and mostly read and a lot of regulars who post like crazy so I like to start topics that get people talking and interacting even if its a strange topic like this . and the answers have been very enlightening . Its all just good fun in the end isn't it .

Father Bill,
This is basic stuff. I had spent enough time in the world before becoming a kilt wearer to be familiar with the process. Everyone has to relieve oneself; wearing the kilt and the procedure to do so may be foreign to them. It was a legitiment question and where better to ask it than here at Xmarks.

You know I've never given it much thought because I don't wear a sporran. I'm glad someone brought it up, so that if I ever do wear a sporran I will now be one step ahead in that battle. As for the rest. I asked my wife how she gathered her shirts when the call of nature comes. I figured I couldn't go wrong with her advice. And as far as the topic goes. Boys will be boys and sometimes we just have to cut up and have a laugh. I read nothing volgar and I though things stayed clean.

Very true Father Bill , kind of an awkward topic for discussion . I guess one could say ... " to err is human , to relieve is divine " .

Everyone has to pee, Father. Even Her Majesty the Queen (contrary to popular belief, she doesn't have someone who is paid to do that for her!).
The question merits to be asked. A newbe who doesn't live in a kilt wearing environment wouldn't know. The only stupid question is the one that you don't ask.
