    Using search function, for example in DIY Showroom, and in DIY assistance, search "sporran".
    It may take awhile, but you get inspiration, and likely find a thread/ post that answers most of your questions. I seem to recall some posts about where to find parts for hair sporrans.
    Here are a couple of examples, from a quick search:

    "Sporrans":

    I have seen these threads and there is one thing I noticed: they do not state how much horse hair is necessary. If you are purchasing it from a source, how much do you get? An ounce? A pound? Seems this would be an important metric. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

    I had the same question after finding instructions, according to "the man" himself, a pound for the body, 1/2 a pound for the tassles. Extra info regarding the construction kindly provided by Artificer here.

    Good luck!

    just a pointer - this is not as easy as it looks - sewing hair and gluing hair gets messy , I wish you the best with this , just be ready for it to be messy - I made one and ended up cutting the hair way way too short -now I have to make it over.

    That is a great detailed instruction on making a horse hair sporran. Can easily be made for a leather sporran or a goat hair sporran. Thanks for pointing this out Dave.
