Historically, as I understand it, there never was a King or Queen of Scotland.

The Scottish monarch was King/Queen of Scots...precisely for the reason Nathan has stated.

Sorry, Don, but I can't agree.

I was born and bred in Scotland so, for me, I come from Scotland. I know where my parents are from but I have absolutely no idea where my g-g-g-g-g-grandparents are buried and, I must admit, that even if I was interested enough to do the research and I found that they were bavarian and are buried in bavaria, I wouldn't suddenly consider myself bavarian nor start wearing lederhosen.

So if I follow your argument to its logical conclusion - shouldn't you take off your kilt and instead wear a Beret?
I don't know your personal situation, but if you have children or grandchildren and they are born in France, would you raise them to recognize their Scottish heritage, or shun it?

Some great shots here. I think a well done badger mask makes a particularly attractive sporran. The proportions are very good and the fur and colour pattern are visually interesting.

It's a nice sporran but you should really hold out for a Scottish Wildcat... it is your destiny.

Once, in a discussion about national identity, somebody once asked me what my definition of being a Scot was. I answered him that if you could put your hand on your heart and say you were a Scot, then in my eyes you were a Scot.

Tom, don't be silly now! We're talking about being from where we were born and bred, not where we happen to be living. I moved to France for work, but I am a Scotsman born and bred and will stay a Scotsman till the day I die.

I have a daughter who was born in France. She knows of her Scottish heritage (of course) but she is French. She was born and bred in the South of France and is a French girl from the town of Nîmes.

To bring the post back on topic, I just recieved my full mask pole cat sporran from Kate MacPherson and I am delighted with it.
