    Another Tartan to ID, please.

A friend of mine is participating in a kilt run this weekend, and was loaned this kilt. I'm utterly hopeless at IDing, so I'm throwing it out to our resident experts.

Not in my Db or that of the STA. I rather like it although I would have used a different shade of green and purple.

Added into the STA archive as #8726 Unnamed C21st - Kilt (USA) until such time as we can track down the name.

This run is happening up around Ottawa, so if you have a different filing system, it'd go under "Canada". But thanks for the attempt.

I also asked him if there was a tailor's tag on the kilt, and it simply says "Scottish Design Tartans", if that might be helpful.

Could this be some sort of a fashion tartan, Peter? I must admit, if it is, it's one of the best I've seen. I'm quite fond of it as well.

I'm inclined to agree. It looks too good to be just a fashion sett. If not a new family tartan then I'd expect it to be something trendy like Scottish Mist or some such thing.

I cannot find Scottish Design Tartans via Google which is surprising. You'd have thought the company would have had a web presence.

Here's a few more pics, and the tailor's tag. I'm starting to think that this might be a "Pride of Sialkot".

It looks like a slightly altered "Pride of Scotland"

    Edit:
There's another quite similar called "Scottish Pride" which appears to be a bit of a mystery itself

    From the STA:
"An enquiry prompted a search for this unknown tartan which was found at www.clan.com which is linked to www.tartanstore.net of Edinburgh which labelled this tartan as being "Scottish pride Commercial - not commercially available." Enquiries continue. Estimated threadcount and colours from poor computer graphic."
