What a gorgeous day for the Games! Victoria Park is lovely. I especially like the Heavy Athletics being done on the beach with the lake in the background. And, nice tent.

It was a gorgeous day. Clan Donald's latest member just emailed me a dropbox full of photos he took at the event and they are quite good. I've asked him if I can share the ones of our Clan Donald reps and am waiting to hear back.

The heavy events on the beach were quite nice to watch but the athletes, who are more used to grass, had to adjust their technique for sand. I think they used something called a toe board and didn't wear their spikes...

A few more photos courtesy of Ron Zinck

I got the go ahead to share. I did crop these so they are not exactly as Ron shot them. Enjoy...

It was great to wear this lovat green jacket again. I really like the stag horn buttons and the fit of this jacket.

I've been wearing this other patterned tweed one a lot lately, which i like because of the less common tweed and the lighter weight of the fabric. This one is not nearly as warm as the green one. If I can find a good deal on real stag horn buttons for the jacket and waistcoat, I'll swap these synthetic ones off. This jacket also has shorter epaulettes than most. I'm not sure why that choice was made, but I'm getting used to it.

I did have to take off the green tweed and bonnet in the afternoon because it got so hot. By contrast, The morning and the evening were very cool.

Great pictures Nathan. Cobourg games really is a lot of fun and the photos show that well. This was our second time there but I hope it will be on our schedule every year for the forseeable future.
I'm just trying to be the person my dog thinks I am.
