Thumb Butte distillery has recently opened here.

They are currently making rum, bourbon, and gin.

While I was at work last week, my wife picked up a bottle of rum and a bottle of bourbon.







The bourbon was pretty young, but not harsh. It didn't have the mellowness of long aging, though. It was very oaky, and a little sweet, though not nearly as sweet as, say, Maker's 46. All in all a nice bourbon, but not spectacular. I'd drink it with soda, but not neat.

The rum, on the other hand, was as good as any rum I've ever had, and I like rum. It is a very nice sipping rum.
