It all started with an invitaton to a friend's Canada Day BBQ. "There will be a piper at the party" says my friend, so I suggested all the guys should wear kilts. The host thought for a moment and said " Good idea, but we should make our own just to make it interesting." Game on! I started searching the web and came across this forum with lots of awesome information on how to make a kilt and even some instructions (x kilt by Alan Hebert).
Seems there is a lot more interest in handmade kilts than I imagined. I've been searching through lots of posts here and am impressed by all the help and kind words for those of us new to kilt making. I'm also new to this level of sewing. Before this project, I just dabbled in sewing some mat covers for my dog crates. Not sure yet if I bit off more than I should have.
I look forward to the adventure.
