Homemade Sporran Belt
I just received a basic sporran today and it had the standard belt and chain. The hooks were kind of flimsy and the pin in the buckle had rough edges that would have snagged any vest or possibly the kilt.
So, I had some black para-chord, a plastic buckle and a couple of bolt snaps. The knots I used were the "cross knot" also known as the true "square knot".
I think it turned out pretty nice.

I would think that it would look worse without looking at it. Nice job. Would be fun to try it with round leather cord.

I like this idea and think I will try the same with plaited leather thongs.

This one was made to go with my black 5.11 Kilt so as the belt wouldn't stand out but was more than just a single strand.
I will have to wait and see how it goes with the tartan kilt once I get it.
