UK Denim kilt with Denim Jean Jackets??
Getting ready for fall got to wondering how jean jackets would look with a UK denim kilt. I know they look good with my UK tan original. Just wondering if anyone has seen the denim over denim look and if its too much or looks good.
Appreciate any feedback, thoughts, or maybe I missed a photo somewhere that shows it.
Tried to order my first two UK workman's tonight but the ordering page crashed in mid order...called, just got a machine...told them to call me when they get back in and I'll order the two workmans (black because it looks so sharp, and carmel because it seems to be a close match for the Navajo Sandstone cliffs around here)....but then I got to thinking about colder weather approaching and the denim UK.
Thanks for any help.

Denim With Denim
Can't say I've ever seen a denim jacket with a denim kilt, but in my own opinion having seen denim jeans and jackets together it looks fine if the colors are in contrast, that is, one is much darker than the other. If they are close in color it just looks like a match was attempted but failed. Coming from different sources the color and weave can never be exact; even if it starts that way they will wear and wash differently. Actually I don't think you would even want them to match--think of a tartan kilt with a tartan jacket. Even if they did match--ugh!

Add riding boots and you'd probably look like a Scottish cowboy.

Denim UK and jean jackets
Thanks Bubba...I do have a pair of Civil War replica knee boots and "old west" style knee boots...a strange look I'll leave for Nancy Sinatra...
Thanks Phil, but I've yet to decide to order the denim UK, so no pictures. Guess I could put on one jean jacket and then take another and put it on like an apron and see sort of what it looks like. Just don't have a handle on what UK's denim fabric looks like or how it hangs. Only pics I've found are on their website as product info. Even the extensive UK photo gallery seems to lack a photo of a denim kilt. I'm guessing they sell a few.

The two have definitely got to be contrasting.
You can wear a jean jacket with a denim kilt, but it'll only look okay if the colour difference is at LEAST the difference between really dark blue and really light blue. Preferably, one'll be black, and the other blue, or white, or whatever.
Not that I'm any kind of fashion authority

maybe find a pic of the kilt, and photoshop it on you.your top, their bottom.
may look a bit like a strange uniform.
I for one am not keen on denim kilts, look to much like skirts IMHO.
I wear a short denim levi jacket(dark blue) with my green UK cammo, and other kilts.
EDIT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I just had a look at the UK web site.
the denim kilt don't look too bad as a matter of fact.
I must have been thinking about another denim kilt.
that one (UK) didn't look too girly.

When studying on what to get for my first kilt, I found out that the denim UKs curl very badly. It's a serious problem. All UKs curl a bit from what I gathered, but folks seem to avoid the denim in particular.
Search the web. A few folks have web sites on measures on how to counter UK curling. One guy found he has to iron his denim UK every time he wears it.

ouch!
yep now you mention it, I heard that the thread used to sew it shrinks faster than the denim, thus the curl.
I just posted a question about problems with denim UK's on the UK board.
I see you(riverkilt) posted a question there too.

Spooked a bit by Dr. Douglass' and Phil's report of UK denim kilts curling, I sought advice on the Yahoo UK board.
Got this response,
"All denim clothing curls at the hem when you wash it. Look at your
jeans when you take them out of the washer or dryer. Curled, right???
It's denim's nature. I iron my black and blue denim after I take it
out of the dryer...that's right the dryer on normal dry. They have
both faded beautifully.
You can post this reply on that other board if you like...
102 kilts and still counting"
So, two completely different experiences. Puzzling, very puzzling...
