Our friend Richard may chime in here. There was an extended discussion of whether or not the Star-Spangled Banner was playable on the pipes on the Bob Dunsire forum. After playing around with the arrangement I linked to for a bit, I tend to agree. As a musician, you might find the discussion worth looking at.
