It's not perfect, but I have seen tartans I like far less (as a kilt). With a nice shirt it might even look fine.
Only problem is, that according to the article:
Hundreds of Team Scotland athletes were in Stirling for the final Team Camp when the outfits were revealed.
The men's uniform comprises a blue shirt while a flowing wrap-around dress has been designed for the women.
A shawl-like wrap and stone-coloured leather bag complete the women's uniform, the latter worn diagonally across the front like one half of the St Andrew's Cross.
they will only wear the shirt.

It's a done deal.......poor athletes......I'm so sorry for them........
But look on the "bright side" of it.....at least they'll have something to make Nursery Curtains for the baby's with.....or Easter Basket liner?....or, ummmm, something...anything but a KILT.......

Without a great dark tan, a turquoise/teal top makes you look sallow and sickly. I tried a shirt, like pictured on the guys, once in the Disco era and I looked near death.
