To everyone else on the forum I offer my apologies for flying off the handle. I think most of you know that I do the best I can to keep FK and X Marks separate.
And I think you know by now that I am just a bit protective about this forum and its members. Every single advertiser is vetted. They are the best, the most honest and the most respected in their respective fields.

When someone comes on the forum and accuses them of taking advantage of some noobie,,,well, I lost it there for a moment.

Oh and just so everyone knows about that $887.00 kilt I quoted. That was for one fully loaded with extra pockets, custom woven fabric and express shipping half way around the world.
The customer just had to have a specific Tartan. The only option was to commission a custom run.
So yea, that was a very expensive kilt.

I fail to see where you have said or done anything wrong in this thread, Steve. I think several of us take offense at the 'inter circle' accusations.

Yes Godot, its a pretty common thing on forums. Someone doesn't get their way on a forum and begins to act just like this. Claims of cliqueism are usually one the first signs. Bragging about how rich you are commonly come next, followed by disparaging remarks against another, usually innocent, member. (And btw, I just flagged "and let you get on with wearing your dresses, what next bras and panthose, but I strongly suspect that under your dress, you are already wearing them." as a Rule #2 violation. I'll let the Moderators decide.)

As others have said this is like a troll. Not exactly a troll but the result is about the same. Trolls also say they are leaving but never do. So, yea, pretty typical behavior.

Well, I'm one of the moderators who will decide, and I'm moving this whole works to the "Cooling Off Corner" for a while.

    Cheers, Peace, Love and Blessings.

I did learn a lot from this experience, and I know that many or all of you know more than I do about kilts. I come here to learn, I wanted to know and yes it required hard questions, are you people so uptight that you cant be ask tough question. You are correct, some did answer the hard ones, then others tried to act cute with their snag remarks. Yes you answered my questions, but why the attacks when, I only repeated what I had been quoted. I came forward and honestly told all, what I was quoted in price, true it was a lot higher than many of you told me to expect. And I didn't imply anything, they were charging me more because I am new, I have ran into this all over the world. One instance, I was in Scotland 2 years ago, I wanted to go see Edinbugh Castle. The hotel man told me let him get me a cab, because if I went on my own the cab man would charge me more because I was a tourist in that country. It happens all over and in every trade, people will take advantage when they can. Yes I noticed the name under Freedom Kilts, the first time I logged on. But it doesn't matter if the kilt was only 10% higher or 10 cents, the fact is that they quoted me more. It is principal, not money. I don't understand why you say a kilt is not a skirt, it is because it is made of different material, it doesn't matter the material, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is probably a duck. But all that doesn't matter. I fully understand that many want to uphold the tradition of the Scots, but the kilt today is a far cry from the original kilt. Today you don't lay it out on the ground and pleat it with the belt under, then lay down and secure it around you. Many years ago, the short kilt came about, that was change, so why the hostility about change, about the machine made ones. Isn't there tolerance here for all people. When I brought up the subject about the lady who said they could make the kilt in less than an hour. This is a very updated machine, it is computerized, guided by lasers. They would charge an hour of labor at about $100, that is quite less than the $300 to $400 price to hand make one. Isn't it a matter of choice. I never called anyone a liar, you brought up that term. I only tried to present a different approach and what I got was attack and hostility. I could say more and say what I really think, but nothing is ever accomplished from back biting. Just get me off here and I will go on and some of you can have future laughs about the crazy American. Larry
