Please choose
What would you do if you are forced to choose between 1 Hand sewn tridational kilt or several contemporay kilts?

That would depend on how many kilts I already had. If I didn't have ant I'd opt for several contemporary or traditional style kilts

I only have 2 Kilts now , both contemperary I would take a few well made contemperarys anyday. I want to have about 6 kilts so I can wear them every day and not worry about them being stinky and all. I sit for most of my day at a desk and all that wool fabric bunched up would not be the best, if i were to wear it many days in a row . But I still want to get a Big traditional 8+ yard kilt in wool someday for nice dress up times.

I hope I would never have to choose. I feel a million dollars in my traditional, but enjoy my others for general and work-a-day wear when I can just throw them in the wash. if I really had to choose...................oh dear!

for me that depends on my current taste. at the moment as i got recently my first UK, would opt for this kind of modern kilt. i only had traditionals and casuals yet, so i like the change. in generally i m married to tartan.

It depends on the quality. You can get three SportKilts for the price of one good contemporary kilt, but the one contemporary is going to be far more valuable than the SportKilts, which you're not likely to wear all that much. Just as an example.

One kilt or several kilts? Is this a trick question?

thrifty...
Coming from a long line of "thrifty" Scots, especially my mum and granny, I was always taught to get the "most for your money" -- therefore, I would go for the traditional.
Then again, it was probably one of MY ancestors they were talking about in the old joke about the man frae Aberdeen who found a crutch alongside the road and promptly went home and broke his wife's leg
Cheers,
T.

Which came first...the kilt or the kiltmaker!
Having both I wear the contemporay kilts MUCH more than tradtional. I don't worry about it as much. It takes less care and yes, if something happens like a rip or damage I will still cry over a $100-200 kilt but not as much as a $500-600 kilt.
To me the answers is contemporay kilts first THEN that prized tradational(s).

Not having but two kilts, I would have to go with the contemporary kilts, provided they could be tartan!
I've survived DAMN near everything
