If it's a skirt, my brother and my father won't wear it.

I think most people are just looking for reactions when they refer kilts as skirts. Most of the time, I just ignore them and won't give them the time and day.
Just like fake Rolexes are Rolex like, but they are no Rolexes.

I just hope we don't feed a misperception at a time when we should be trying to educate people that there is a difference between kilts and skirts.
There's a difference in style, construction, and intent.
I'm taking an EMT course and yesterday we were practicing our skills in the lab. We started joking around a bit and one of the students became concerned that we weren't taking our work seriously.
The instructor told us that joking around is ok so long as it doesn't interfere with providing quality care.
So long as it doesn't interfere...

Thank you for that explanation, bcmtnbka. No wonder I have never heard of him!
I do know the name Demi Moore, but I've no idea who/what she is ....... another so-called celebrity, I imagine. Please don't bother explaining - I am happy to live in ignorance sometimes!

You're lucky, I hear about them all the time from the teeny boppers who eat at the cafe I work at.
The InTouch article did show Robin Williams and Samual L. Jackson in kilts. They also showed Vin Diesal wearing what they called a leather skirt but what I think was the leather kilt he wore to the MTV Europe music awards, hard to tell do to angle of the photo.

Demi Moore...
When my wife lived in Ft. Lauderdale she met Demi Moore and Bruce Willis at the movie theatre she worked at on several occasions -- they were always very nice and didn't like to receive any "special attention", and did raise their children with manners, according to Page.
Cheers,
