Here's a photo of the top of my cromach... More rustic than the fine sticks of Tobus and creagdhubh, but very serviceable. It's hazel, with a horn crook and and a spacer made of antler:

Just thought I'd throw it out there, as it's a bit different.

    Cheers,

I love it, Shaun! It is in my humble opinion that cromachs should be just as unique as their owner.

Really nice stick Shaun. Thomas, really nice creations. A cromach is coming soon to my next addition to my walking sticks collection. I've bookmarked your page.

I have received one from Thomas, and it's A1+! Love it; sincere thanks. Pictures in the near future should I have an occasion to kilt up.

I have tried the traditional cromach and found it awkward to go walking about with (I'm a tad on the short side) I have settled on the Irish shillelagh as my choice of walking accessory..

YMMV but I prefer the shorter length and stouter weight of it should I need to rap a belligerent bloke in the head.

I finally found a cromach with a ram's horn handle and then I found another one with a thistle carved in. The one without the thistle had no collar so I made one out of stag horn/antler. The one with the thistle has a buffalo horn collar I would guess but I'm not 100% sure. I've also replaced the shafts on both of these cromachs because I like a very hard very straight stick that goes up to my chest.

Now I'm trying to figure out which one to keep and which one to sell. lol. Which do you think I should keep?

Here are some of my other sticks. I made all of the stag horn sticks as well as the one with the brass handle.
